இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• தண்டனைக் கைதிகளை நாடு கடத்துவது தொடர்பாக இந்தியா  மற்றும் பிரேசில் இடையே கையெழுத்தான ஒப்பந்தம் அமலுக்கு வந்துள்ளது.
  • இவ்வொப்பந்தமானது 2013 ஆம் ஆண்டு கையெழுத்தானது. இதன் மூலம் மீதமுள்ள தண்டனை கைதிகள் மீதமுள்ள தண்டனைக் காலத்தை தங்களது சொந்த நாட்டிலேயே அவர்கள் அனுபவிக்க முடியும்.

 

 

• இந்தியாவின் முதல் “கார்பன் நேர்மறை குடியேற்ற கிராமம்” என்ற  குறீயீட்டை மணிப்பூர் மாநிலத்தைச் சேர்ந்த “பாயெங் கிராமம்” (phayeng) பெற்றுள்ளது.
  • பாயெங் கிராமத்தில், கார்பன் நேர்மறை கிராம திட்டத்தின் கீழ் காடு வளர்ப்புக்காக ரூ10 கோடி நிதி ஒதுக்கப்பட உள்ளது.

 

 

• ஜம்மு மற்றும் காஷ்மீரின் ராஜோரி மாவட்டத்தில் தேர்தலில் பங்கு பெறவுள்ள மூத்த வாக்காளர்களை ஊக்குவிப்பதற்காக “சஹூலாத்” என்ற பெயரிடப்பட்ட மொபைல் செயலியை அம்மாவட்ட தேசிய தகவல் மையத்தின் மாவட்ட அல கு தொடங்கியுள்ளது.

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• நேட்டோ நாடுகளின் கூட்டமைப்பின் 70 வது ஆண்டு விழாவானது ஏப்ரல் 4 அன்று அமெரிக்காவின் வாசிங்டன் நகரில் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது
  • இவ்விழாவில் நேட்டோ நாடுகளின் வெளியுறவு அமைச்சர்கள் பங்கேற்றனர்.
  • குறிப்பு:
    29 வட அமெரிக்க மற்றும் ஐரோப்பிய நாடுகளின் ராணுவக் கூட்டமைப்பான நேட்டோ (NATO) 1949 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 4- ல் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
  • இதன் தலைமையகம் பெல்ஜியத்தின் புருஸ்லஸில் உள்ளது.

 

 

அறிவியல் &தொழில்நுட்பம்

 

• நிலவுக்கு மனிதர்களை ஏந்திச் செல்லுவதற்காக அமெரிக்க விண்வெளி ஆய்வு மையமான நாசாவானது “எஸ்எல்எல்” (SLL); என்ற இராக்கெட்டில் பயன்படுத்தும் ஆர்எஸ்-25 (Rs- 25) என்ற என்ஜினை வெற்றிகரமாக சோதனை செய்யப்பட்டது.

 

 

நியமனங்கள்

 

• கொல்கத்தா உயர் நீதிமன்றத்தின் தலைமை நீதிபதியாக, ஹைதராபாத்தின் தலைமை நீதிபதியாக பணியாற்றிய “T.B.N ராதாகிருஷ்ணன்” என்பவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்
  • இதை தொடர்ந்து நீதிபதியாக, ராகவேந்திரா சிங் சௌகான் என்பவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்
  • குறிப்பு:
    உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தின் தலைமை நீதிபதியை குடியரசுத் தலைவர் அரசியலமைப்பு விதி 217-ன் படி நியமிக்கிறார்.
  • கொல்கத்தா உயர்நீதிமன்றமானது 1862-ல் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
  • உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தின் தற்கால தலைமை நீதிபதி அரசியலமைப்பு விதி 223-ன் படி நியமிக்கப்படுகிறார்

• சம்தா திவாஸ் தினம் – ஏப்ரல் 5
  • 1946 ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஜவஹர்லால் நேருவின் தலைமையிலான இடைக்கால அரசில் தொழிலாளர் நலத் துறை அமைச்சராக பணியாற்றிய “பாபு ஜெகஜீவன்ராம்” பிறந்த நாளை நினைவு கூறும் வகையில் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஏப்ரல் 5 ஆம் தேதி “சம்தா திவாஸ்” கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • பாபு என அழைக்கப்படும் ஜெகஜீவன்ராம் பீகார் மாநிலம், போஜ்பூர் மாவட்டம், சார்ந்தவர் கிராமத்தின் பிறந்த சுதந்திர போராட்ட வீரர் ஆவார்.

NATIONAL NEWS

• An Android-based application named “Sahulat” was launched to facilitate and to encourage the elder voters for participating in the elections in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.
  • District Election Officer of Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad launched the application for the voters who are 90 years old or above.The app has been developed by the district unit of the National Informatics Centre.

 

• Imphal West district of Manipur namely Phayeng Village has become India’s first carbon-positive settlement.
  • A village is given carbon-positive tag if it sequesters more carbon than it emits, slowing accumulation of greenhouse gases (GHGs) and mitigating effects of climate change.

 

• President of All India Football Federation (AIFF) Praful Patel, has become the first Indian to be elected as a member of FIFA Executive Council.
  • Patel got 38 votes out of the total 46 votes, which only shows how highly he is regarded by the fellow Asian nations.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• South Korea launches the world’s first fully-fledged 5G mobile networks. Hyper-wired South Korea has long had a reputation for technical prowess, and Seoul has made the 5G rollout a priority as it seeks to stimulate stuttering economic growth.
  • The system will bring smartphones near-instantaneous connectivity 20 times faster than the existing 4G allowing users to download entire movies in less than a second.

 

ECONOMY

• IT industry body Nasscom has appointed WNS Global Services Group CEO Keshav Murugesh as its chairman for 2019-20. He takes over from his previous role as vice-chairman of Nasscom by replacing Rishad Premji .
  • Nasscom has appointed Infosys COO U.B. Pravin Rao as its vice-chairman for 2019-20.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• The Indian IT industry’s apex body Nasscom said WNS global services’ Chief Executive Keshav Murugesh will be its new Chairman for fiscal 2019-20. Global software services’ Infosys’ Chief Operating Officer B. Pravin Rao will be the new Vice Chairman of Nasscom for FY20.
  • Murugesh succeeded Wipro board member and chief strategy officer Rishad Premji, who was the apex body’s chairman for fiscal 2018-19.

 

AWARDS

• The Indian subsidiary of ESPN (Entertainment and Sports Programming Network), ESPN India (espn.in) declared the ESPN India awards for 2018 in which PV Sindhu was conferred with the sportsperson of year award in female category and Neeraj Chopra was conferred with the sportsperson of the year award in Male category.

 

IMPORTANT DAYS

• The National Maritime Day (NMD) is observed every year on 5 April to commemorate the maiden voyage of the first Indian owned ship “SS Loyalty” sailed from Bombay to London on 5th April 1919.
