• தமிழகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற மக்களவை தொகுதி தேர்தலில் 71 சதவீதம் வாக்குகள் பதிவாகியுள்ளது.
  • வேலூர் தொகுதி தவிர்த்து 38 தொகுதியில் நடைபெற்ற தேர்தலில் அதிகபட்சமாக தர்மபுரி மக்களவை தொகுதியில் 80.47 சதவீதம் வாக்குப்பதிவு கிடைத்துள்ளது.
  • குறைந்த வாக்குப்பதிவானது தென்சென்னை தொகுதியில் 57.43 சதவீதமாக பதிலாகி உள்ளது.

 

 

இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• கடற்கரையோரப் பகுதியில் வசிக்கும் மக்களுக்கு புயல் எச்சரிக்கை தகவல்களை அளிப்பதற்காகவும், பருவநிலை தொடர்பான முக்கிய தகவல்களை வெளியிடுவதற்காக, பருவநிலை மாற்ற ஆராய்ச்சி மையம், சென்னையில் உள்ள இந்திய தொழில்நுட்பக் கல்வி நிறுவனத்தில் தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • இது இந்திய – ஜெர்மனி பராமரிப்பு மையத்தின் ஒத்துழைப்போடு அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

• இந்தியா மற்றும் பிரான்ஸ் நாடுகளுக்கிடையேயான கடற்படை பயிற்சியான “வருணா” என்ற பயிற்சியானது கோவா கடற்கரைப் பகுதியில் நடைபெற உள்ளது.
  இதில் இரு நாடுகளின் நீர்மூழ்கி கப்பல்கள் பங்குபெறும் ஒரு உயர்மட்ட கடற்படை பயிற்சியாகும்.

• இந்திய கடற்படை மற்றும் வியட்நாம் கடற்படைகளுக்கு இடையேயான “IN-VPN BILAT” என்ற கடற்பயிற்சியானது வியட்நாமில் நடைபெற்றது.

 

 

அறிவியல் &தொழில்நுட்பம்

 

• இஸ்ரேல் நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த டெல் அலிவ் பல்கலைகழகத்தில் ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் உலகின் முதல் வாஸ்குலர்ஜிடேல் பொறிக்கப்பட்ட 3D இதயம் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • இது நோயாளிகளின் செல் மற்றும் உயிரியல் பொருட்கள் மூலம் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

• மரியானா அகழியில் ஒரு புதுமையான எண்ணெயை உண்ணும் பாக்டீரியத்தை அறிவியலாளர்கள் கண்டறிந்துள்ளனர்
  • ஹைட்ரோ கார்பனைச் சிதைக்கும் இந்த பாக்டீரியாவானது எண்ணெய் கசிவுகளை சுத்தம் செய்வதற்கான வழிகளை கண்டறிய முடியும்.

 

 

• இலங்கையின் முதலாவது செயற்கைகோளான “ராவனா – 1” என்ற செயற்கைகோள் அமெரிக்காவின் நாசாவின் உதவியுடன் வெற்றிகரமாக விண்ணில் செலுத்தப்பட்டது.
  • இதன் மூலம் சர்வதேச விண்வெளி உலகில் இலங்கை நுழைந்துள்ளதைக் குறிக்கிறது.

• “ககன்தீப் காங்” என்பவர் இலண்டனில் உள்ள “ராயல் சமூகத்தின் உறுப்பினராக” (FRS – Fellow of the Royal Society) தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
  • இவர் தடுப்பூசிப் பரிசோதனைகளுக்கு உதவுவதற்காக தேசிய ரோட்டா வைரஸ் மற்றும் டைபாய்டு கண்காணிப்பு அமைப்புகள் மற்றும் ஆய்வகங்களை உருவாக்கினார்.

• ஹிமாச்சல் தினம் (Himachal Day) – ஏப்ரல் 15
  • ஹிமாச்சல் பிரதேசமானது, ஏப்ரல் 15, 1948ல் ஒரு தனி மாகாணமாக உருவாக்கப்பட்டதன் நினைவாக ஏப்ரல் 15ம் நாள் இமாச்சல் தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • இமாச்சல் பிரதேசமானது ஜனவரி 25, 1971ம் ஆண்டு இந்தியாவின் 18வது மாநிலமாக மாறியது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

 

 

• உலக இரத்த உறையாமை தினம் (World Haemosphilia Day) – ஏப்ரல் 17
  • 1989ம் ஆண்டு றுர்கு நிறுவனர் (World Federation of Haemophilia) ஃபிராங் சந்தனபேல் பிறந்த நாளை நினைவு கூறும் வகையில் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஏப்ரல் 17ம் நாள் உலக இரத்த உறையாமை தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • 2019ம் ஆண்டில் இத்தின மையக் கருத்து: எல்லை மற்றும் அடையாளப்படுத்தல் (Oulreallh and Identification)

 

 

• உலக பாரம்பரிய தினம் – ஏப்ரல் 8 (World Heritage Day)
  • நினைவு சின்னங்கள் மற்றும் புராதன இடங்களை பாதுகாப்பதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டு ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஏப்ரல் 18ம் நாள் உலக பாரம்பரிய தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • இத்தினமானது 1983ம் ஆண்டு முதல் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
  • 2019ம் ஆண்டின் இத்தின மையக் கருத்து: “Rural Landscapes” என்பதாகும்.

NATIONAL NEWS

• Recently, Rs. 4315.15 crores budget has been approved by Union Cabinet headed by PM Narendra Modi, to create over 2 lakhs additional seats in 158 central education institutions. The additional seats were created over next two years to implement 10 per cent Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) reservation.

 

• On April 18, 2019, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an order to suspend the LOC trade between Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK). The reason for the suspension is due to an increase in terror funding, drug trade and fake currencies among other illegal activities by misusing trade routes.
  • The trade between J&K and POJK is allowed through two Trade Facilitation centers. First, one located at Salamabad, Uri, district Baramulla and the second one located at Chakkan-da-Bagh, district

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• WHO Has Released New Guidelines On 10 Ways To Use Digital Health Technology To Boost People’s Health . The guidelines were based on a 2-year-long research study by WHO on digital technologies which was inclusive of consultations with global experts.
  • The guidelines state ways for employing digital tools for birth notifications, deploying health worker decision support tools and using telemedicine

 

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

• On 17th April 2019, the Research team led by Kiran Ambatipudi from the Biotechnology Department at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee has identified a new method to detect breast and ovarian cancer. The research published in the journal, ‘FASEB Bioadvances’.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• Deputy chief of mission in the embassy of India in Riyadh,Dr.Suhel Ajaz khan has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Lebanon.He hails from Indore,Madhya Pradesh.
  • He completed MBBS from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical college, Indore.

 

AWARDS

• On 18th April 2019, Padma Bhushan awardee Yusuf Hamied (82) who is the chairman of Cipla pharmaceutical company was honoured in the 2019 list of new fellows of the UK’s Royal Society.
  • It is an independent scientific academy of the UK and the Commonwealth, for promoting excellence in science.

 

BOOKS

• On 19th April 2019, a book containing English translation of the 100 year old classic Punjabi poem about Jallianwala Bagh massacre, ‘Khooni Vaisakhi’ has been released in Abu Dhabi and was commended by India’s Ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Singh Suri.
