• கேரளாவின் வய நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த 22 வயதான ஸ்ரீ தன்ய சுரேஷ் என்ற பெண்மணி அம்மாநிலத்திலிருந்து குடிமைப் பணித் தேர்வில் வெற்றிப்பெற்ற முதலாவது பழங்குடியினப் பெண்மணியாக உருவெடுத்துள்ளார்.
  • இவர் இத்தேர்வில் 410-வது இடத்தைப் பிடித்துள்ளார்.

 

 

 

 

• “போல்ட் குருஷேத்ரா – 2019” இராணுவப் பயிற்சி
  • இந்தியா மற்றும் சிங்கப்பூர் ஆகிய நாடுகளின் இராணுவ தொழில் நுட்பத்தை மேம்பாடு செய்வதற்காக மற்றும் பயங்கரவாதத்திற்கு எதிரான போராட்டங்களை அதிகரிப்பதற்கான, இந்தியா மற்றும் சிங்கப்பூர் ஆகிய இராணுவங்களுக்கிடையேயான “போல்ட் குருஷேத்ரா -2019” (Bold kuruskshetra -2019) இராணுவப் பயிற்சியானது ஜான்சியில் நடைபெற்றது.

 

 

 

 

• தேசிய பசுமை தீர்பாயத்திலிருந்து “ISO” (International Organisation for Standardisation) சான்றிதழைப் பெற்ற இந்திய இரயில்வேயின் முதல் ரயில்நிலையமாக கௌகாத்தி ரயில் நிலையம் உள்ளது.
  • தூய்மையான மற்றும் பசுமையான சுற்றுச்சூழலில் பயணிகள் சேவை வழங்கியதற்காக இச்சான்றிதழ் வழங்கப்பட்டது.

• மத்திய கிழக்கு மற்றும் வட ஆப்பிரிக்கா மீதான 17 வது உலக பொருளாதார மன்ற மாநாடானது “ஜோர்டானில்” நடைபெற்றது.
  • இம்மாநாட்டில், இப்பகுதியில் உள்ள மக்களின் சமூக மற்றும் பொருளாதார வாழ்வை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கான திட்டங்கள் குறித்து விவாதிக்கப்பட்டது.

• சர்வதேச வர்த்தக சபையின் (ICC- International Chamber of commerce) இந்தியப் பிரிவின் தலைவராக “விக்ரம்ஜித் சிங் சஹினி” (Vikramjit singh shaney) என்பவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்

 

 

 

பொருளாதார நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• இந்தியாவின் பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சியானது 2019-20 ஆம் ஆண்டில் 7.3 சதவீதமாகவும், 2020-21ஆம் ஆண்டில் 7.5 சதவீதமாகவும் இருக்கும் என சர்வதேச நிதியம் அமைப்பு (IMF) கணித்துள்ளது.
  • சர்வதேச நிதியம் (IMF) டிசம்பர் 27, 1945ல் தொடங்கப்பட்டது. இதன் தலைமையகம் அமெரிக்காவின் வாசிங்டன் டி.சி – யில் உள்ளது.

NATIONAL NEWS

• Vice Admiral Bimal Verma has dropped the petition to challenge the appointment of Vice Admiral Karambir Singh as the next Navy Chief. He will be seeking the “statutory remedy” of approaching the government first.
  • It was aftermath when Admiral Verma was asked to file a statutory complaint to the Defence Ministry by the Armed Forces tribunal under the Navy Act.

 

• The National Green Tribunal formed a committee to look into the alleged erosion of Yamuna floodplain due to movement of heavy vehicles in Haryana’s Sonipat district.
  • A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel constituted a committee comprising the principal secretary of the Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Department, member secretary of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board and the director of the Mines and Geology Department.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• On 7th April 2019, Emirates Islamic bank launched a chat banking facility for its customer via Whatsapp and become the world’s 1st bank in the Islamic banking sector to give such facility.
  • This chat banking solution allows customers to check account balances, temporarily blocking or unblockingof an existing card.

 

ECONOMY

• Google parent Alphabet has beat Amazon to launch one of the first commercial drone delivery businesses. Alphabet made its first delivery in Canberra after getting approval from the country’s civil aviation authority.
  • Wing, the company’s drone delivery arm, was testing drone delivery in Australia since 2014 and delivered medicines, chocolate to 3,000 homes in the last 18 months.

 

SPORTS

• On 10th April 2019, Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack has named Virat Kohli and Smriti Mandhana as the Leading male and female cricketer of the year 2019.
  • Smriti Mandhana bagged the women’s Leading Cricketer of the year for the first time while Indian men’s team captain was named for the third straight year.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• On 9th April 2019, The acting Prime Minister of Haiti, Jean Michel Lapin confirmed as the country’s new Prime Minister by the President Jovenel Moise. He succeeds Jean-Henry Ceant.
  • Lapin is the third Premier under President Moise since he came to office in February 2017.

 

AWARDS

• Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has bagged the prestigious ‘AIMA Managing India Award 2019 for outstanding PSU of the year.’ The award was presented by former President Pranab Mukherjee to Sanjiv Singh, Chairman, Indian Oil.
  • The All India Management Association (AIMA), the apex body of management professionals in the country, is committed to enhancing business excellence through its multifaceted activities.
