SSC CHSL Tier 3 Exam Syllabus

  • The Tier 3 of SSC CHSL Exam 2019 comprises of a couple of skill tests which are required for certain government posts.

Skill Test for Data Entry Operator (DEO):

  • Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer.
  • The duration of the Test will be 15 (Fifteen) minutes .

Typing Test for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant LDC’s and Court Clerks:

  • Typing Test: For English typing- typing speed of 35 words per minute is required, For Hindi typing- typing speed of 30 words per minute is mandatory. Typing test will be applicable for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, LDC, and Court Clerk posts.
  • Skill Test: Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on the computer. Skill test is conducted for Data Entry Operator post.
  • Candidates opting for English medium should have typing speed of 35 words per minute.
  • Candidates opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per minute.
  • The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the Computer of a given text passage in 10 minutes.
  • Visually Handicapped candidates (with 40% disability and above) will be allowed 30 minutes.

Endurance Test

Candidates, qualifying in the PMT will have to undergo the endurance test as the next step of the selection process. Those, failing in this test will be eliminated from the selection process, while those qualifying will have to take up the Physical Efficiency Test. The Endurance Test will encompass the following:

  • Men – Candidates will have to run 1500 mtrs in 7 minutes
  • Women – Candidates will have to cover 400 mtrs in 2 minutes by running

Physical Efficiency Test

Candidates clearing the Endurance Test will have to take up the Physical Efficiency Test that will have three events with a least qualifying mark of 6 and 2 marks per star in each event and the utmost of 15 marks are allotted for 6 stars. The details of the events are as follows:

  • Classical thermodynamics and elements of statistical thermodynamics:- First law of thermodynamics:- heat capacity – isothermal adiabatic processes – Thermochemical laws – Kircheff’s equation second law of thermodynamics, entropy, in reversible and irreversible processes – Gibe’s free energy and Helmholtz free energy – Third law of thermodynamics.

  • Chemistry of lathanides and actinides:– Electronic configuration – occurrence and Separation techniques -oxidation states, colour. Magnetic and spectroscopic properties – lanthanide contraction , use of lanthanide compounds as shift reagents.
