• இரண்டாம் உலக போரில் ஜெர்மனியை ரஷ்யா வென்றது. இதன் 73வது ஆண்டு நினைவு தினம் மே 9ம் தேதி ரஷ்யாவில் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. இதில் சக்தி வாய்ந்த ஏவுகணைகள் மற்றும் 1200 ஆயுதங்களின் அணி வகுப்பு நடைபெற்றது.

 

• உலகின் பிரபலமான நாளிதழான போர்ப்ஸ் பத்திரிக்கை, உலகில் சக்திவாய்ந்த பிரபலங்கள் பட்டியலை வெளியிட்டது. இதில் சீன அதிபர் ஷி ஜின்பிங் முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளார்.

• இரயில் பயணத்தின் போது விபத்து ஏற்பட்டால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு இழப்பீடு வழங்க வேண்டும் என்று உச்ச நீதிமன்றம் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது.

 

• காணாமல் போன சிறார்களை கண்டுபிடிக்க ‘பேஸ் ரெகாக்னிசன்’ என்ற மென் பொருளை டெல்லி காவல்துறையினர் பயன்படுத்த உள்ளனர்.

• The International Monetary Fund, IMF has reaffirmed that India will be the fastest growing major economy in 2018, with a growth rate of 7.4 per cent that will further rise to 7.8 per cent in 2019.

 

• US-based retail giant Walmart confirmed that it will buy 77% stake in India’s largest e-commerce startup Flipkart for $16 billion.

• The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) signed a space act agreement with Uber Technologies to explore concepts and technologies related to Urban Air Mobility (UAM) for future air transportation such as flying cars in populated areas.

• The Indian Army’s ‘Vijay Prahar’ exercise in which over 25,000 troops of the Jaipur based South Western command participated concluded in Rajasthan’s Suratgarh.

 

Appointment

• Journalist Carlos Alvarado has been sworn in as 48th President of Costa Rica. At 39, Alvarado is the country’s youngest president in modern history.
