உலக செய்திகள்

 

 

• ரஷ்ய அதிபராக ‘விளாடிமிர் புடின்’ மீண்டும் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

 

• சீனாவின் புதிய பிரதமராக ‘லி கெகியாங்’ 2வது முறையாக தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

 

• அமெரிக்காவின் ‘யுஎஸ்எஸ் ஓக் ஹில்’ என்ற போர் கப்பல்  ஜார்ஜியாவுக்கு வந்தடைந்துள்ளது.

 

• Times Higher Education (THE) என்னும் அமைப்பு சர்வதேச கல்வி நிறுவனங்களின் தரவரிசைப் பட்டியலை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. இதில் சுவிட்சர்லாந்தின் EPFL federal technology institute என்னும் கல்வி நிறுவனம் முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது.

• தேசிய அளவில் முதியவர்களுக்கு எதிரான குற்றங்கள் அதிகம் நடைபெறும் மாநிலங்கள் பட்டியலில் மகாராஷ்டிரம் முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது. மத்தியப் பிரதேசம் மற்றும் தமிழகம், 2, 3வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது.

 

• அரசியல் கட்சிகள், தேர்தல் செலவுக்காக வெளிநாடுகளில் இருந்து, நன்கொடைகளை பெறுவது ஆய்வுக்கு உட்படுத்துவதில் இருந்து விலக்கு அளிக்கும் திருத்த மசோதா மக்களவையில் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது.

• The United Nations has issued an appeal for 951 million Dollars to meet the needs of nearly 900,000 Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.  

 

• Russian President Vladimir Putin stormed to victory in presidential election, giving him another six years in power.Putin, who has ruled Russia for almost two decades, won more than 75% of the vote according to preliminary results. 

 

• The Philippines says it will withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC), a month after the judicial body started an inquiry into President Rodrigo Duterte’s controversial war on drugs.

• Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba is on a five-day visit to the USA. The visit aims to consolidate relations between the Armed Forces of both the nations and to explore new avenues of defence co-operation. During the visit, Admiral Lanba will hold bilateral discussions with US Defence Secretary James Mattis, Secretary of the Navy Richard Spenceramong others.

 

• President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurates a Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurshipand present Gandhian Young Technological Innovation awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan, in New Delhi. 

 

• Representatives from 50 countries gathered in New Delhi for a two-day informal World Trade Organisation (WTO) ministerial meeting.

 

• The Vice-Chairman, NITI Aayog, Dr Rajiv Kumarinaugurated the First India-Japan Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction in New Delhi. The two-day workshop is being jointly organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Government of Japan.

 

• Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari has inaugurated the 5th ‘Nadi Mahotsava’ in Hoshangabad District of Madhya Pradesh.

 

• The Maharashtra cabinet decided to impose a ban on certain plastic items from the Marathi New Year, ‘Gudhi Padwa’, on March 18.

SBI Quick App has special features for controlling special ATM cards. It provides the facility of blocking, turning on or off ATM cards and generating an ATM PIN.
