• சர்வதேச யோக தினத்தை ஜுன் 21 முன்னிட்டு இராஜஸ்தான் மாநிலம் கோட்டா நகரில் நடைபெற்ற யோகா பயிற்சி நிகழ்ச்சியில் சுமார் 1.6 லட்டசம் பேர் கலந்து கொண்டு கின்னஸ் சாதனை படைத்துள்ளனர்.

 

 

• விவசாய வர்த்தக் கொள்கை விவசாயத்தில் நவீன தொழில்நுட்பங்களை பயன்படுத்துவது தொடர்பான விவசாய மாநாடு மகாராஷ்டிரா மாநிலம் புனே-வில் நடைபெற்றது.

 

 

• இந்தியாவின் மற்ற மாநில அரசை கலைத்து ஆளுநர் ஆட்சியை அமல்படுத்த விதி 356 பயன்படுத்தப்படும். ஆனால் ஜம்மு-காஷ்மிர் மாநில சட்டப்படி விதி 92 ஐ பயன்படுத்தி ஆளுநர் ஆட்சி அமல்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• Canadian Parliament has passed a “historic” bill legalizing the recreational use of marijuana nationwide, becoming the second country in the world to do so.

 

• India and Tajikistan have reaffirmed their commitment to promote bilateral relations and agreed to enhance economic cooperation, particularly in sustainable water development.

 

 

Appointment

• Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra has appointed IAS officer BVR Subrahmanyam as the new Chief Secretary of the state.

 

Awards

• Vishwas Mandlik of Nashik and The Yoga Institute in Mumbai are the recipients of the 2018 Prime Minister’s Award for outstanding contribution to promotion and development of yoga.
  • Mandlik won the award in the category Individual – National and The Yoga Institute won in the category Organisation – National.

 

• 800 differently-abled people from across India attempted to set a Guinness World Record for ‘Largest Silent Yoga Class’ in Ahmedabad on the occasion of 4th International Yoga Day.

• The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has received the book “Vedvigyan Alok” (Maharishi Aitareya Mahidas Praneet – Aitareya Brahmina ki Vaigyanik Vyakhya) authored by Acharya Agnivarat Naishthik.
  • The Book Vedvigyan Alok is the scriptural verse in Vedas’ prose.
