உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• அமெரிக்க அதிபர் டொனால்டு ட்ரம்பும் வடகொரிய அதிபர் கிம் ஜாங் உன்னும் சிங்கப்பூரில் 12.06.18 சந்தித்துப் பேசினர். அப்போது வடகொரியாவின் அணுஆயுதங்களை முழுமையாக ஒழிப்பது தொடர்பான ஒப்பந்தத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டனர்.

 

• சர்வதேச அளவிலான தகவல் மற்றும் தொலைதொடர்பு மாநாடு நேபாளத்தின் தலைநகரமான காத்மண்டு-வில் நடைபெற உள்ளது.

 

• சூரிய கிரண் XIII – இந்திய நேபாளம் நாடுகளுக்கிடையேயான 13 வது கூட்டு ராணுவ பயிற்சி உத்தரகாண்ட் மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள பிதோராகார்க் என்னும் இடத்தில் நடைபெற்றது. இந்த பயிற்சி வருடத்திற்க்கு இரு முறை நடைபெறும்.

• அடல் இனோவேசன் மிஷன் – என்ற திட்டத்தின் கீழ் நிதி ஆயோக்- கானது நாடு முழுவதும் சுமார் 3000 அடல் டிக்கரிங்ஸ் லேப் நிறுவ உள்ளது.

 

• இந்தியாவில் அதிகமான வேலை வாய்ப்புகளை உருவாக்கும் மாநிலங்களின் பட்டியலில் தமிழ்நாடு முதல் இடத்தில் உள்ளது. இரண்டு மற்றும் மூன்றாம் இடத்தில் மாகாராஷ்டிரா மற்றும் குஜராத் உள்ளது.

 

• Data visualization App – யுனிசெப் அமைப்பானது இந்தியாவில் கல்வி சூழ்நிலைகளின் சிக்கலான பகுப்பாய்வுகளை எளிய முறையில் காட்சிப்படுத்தி மக்களுக்கு வழங்குவதற்காக இந்த செயலியை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

• Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced a health assurance scheme named “Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana” that will benefit around 5 crore people from over 70 lakh families in the state.
  • The scheme will come into effect from August 15 2018.

• 10 New Swachh Iconic Places Launched Under Swachh Bharat Mission
  • Ten new iconic sites have been taken up under Phase III of the flagship project Swachh Iconic Places (SIP) of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

10 New Iconic Sites are as follows

• Raghavendra Swamy Temple (Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh);
• Hazardwari Palace (Murshidabad, West Bengal);
• Brahma Sarovar Temple (Kurukshetra, Haryana);
• VidurKuti (Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh);
• Mana village (Chamoli, Uttarakhand);
• Pangong Lake (Leh-Ladakh, J&K);
• Nagvasuki Temple (Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh);
• ImaKeithal/market (Imphal, Manipur);
• Sabarimala Temple (Kerala); and
• Kanvashram (Uttarakhand).

 

• The government has approved a 33 percent increase in carpet area of houses eligible for interest subsidy under its affordable housing scheme Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) to attract more beneficiaries.

 

• The Union Government has announced to establish India’s first national police museum in Lutyens’ Delhi. The museum is expected to be inaugurated on 21st October 2018 on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day.

 

• NITI Aayog has come up with the Composite Water Management Index to overcome limitations on availability of water resources and the rising demand for water.

International News

• An International Conference on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will be held in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal from June 17.
  • The Theme of the two-day conference is “Sustainable Development Goals for Smart Society”.

 Awards

• Noted social reformer and founder of Sulabh International, Bindeshwar Pathak, has been honoured with Japan’s prestigious ‘Nikkei Asia Prize for Culture and Community’ for his significant work in tackling poor hygiene and discrimination.
