• 6வது இந்தியா – இங்கிலாந்து நாடுகளுக்கிடையேயான அறிவியல் மற்றும் கண்டுபிடிப்பு கவுன்சில் (The 6th India – UK Science & Innovation Council(SIC) மாநாடு புது டெல்லியில் நடைபெற்றது.

 

 

• அழகு சாதன பொருட்கள் மற்றும் ஃபேஷன் வடிவமைப்பு மற்றம் தொழில்நுட்பம் போன்ற துறைகளில் பெண்களுக்கு பயிற்சி அளிக்க இந்தியாவில் முதன் முதலாக பெண்களுக்கான முதல் தேசிய திறன் பயிற்சி மையம், பஞ்சாப் மாநிலம் மொஹலியில் தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. • டெல்லியில் உள்ள டீன் முர்டி பவன் காம்பளக்ஸில் உள்ள நேரு மெமோரியல் மியூசியம் மற்றும் அதில் உள்ள நூலகம் ஆகியவை இணைக்கப்பட்டு, இந்தியாவின் முன்னாள் பிரதம அமைச்சர்களுக்கான அருங்காட்சியகமாக மாற்றப்பட உள்ளது.

 

• இந்தியாவில் முதன் முதலாக வடகிழக்கு மாநிலங்களில் ஒன்றான நாகலாந்து மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள கோஹிமா கல்லூரியில் வாட்டர் ஏடிஎம் (Water ATM) அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • நாகலாந்து தலைநகரம் கோஹிமா, இங்குள்ள கல்லூரி மாணவர்களுக்கு பயன்படும் வகையில் வாட்டர் ஏடிஎம் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• சர்வதேச அளவில் சுமார் 28 நாடுகளில் நடத்திய ஆய்வின் அடிப்படையில் உடல் உறுப்பு தானம் செய்வோர் பட்டியலில் இந்தியா 74 சதவீதத்துடன் முதலிடத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளதாக பிரிட்டன் நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த இப்சோஸ் மேரி என்ற நிறுவனம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
  • இரண்டாவது இடத்தில். 72 சதவீதத்துடன் பிரேசில் உள்ளது.
  • இந்தப் பட்டியலில் ரஷ்யா, கடைசி இடம் பிடித்துள்ளது.

 

 

 விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• சென்னையில் நடைபெற்ற 13-வது உலக ஜுனியர் ஸ்குவாஸ் போட்டியில் எகிப்து அணியானது இங்கிலாந்து அணியை வீழ்த்தி 6வது முறையாக சாம்பியன் பட்டத்தை பெற்றுள்ளது.

 

 

அறிவியல் & தொழில்நுட்பம்

 

• இணையதள தேடல் எந்திரமான கூகுள் (Google) நிறுவனம் சான் பிரான்சிஸ்கோவில் நடைபெற்ற அதன் க்ளாவ்டு நெக்ஸ்ட் (Cloud Next – 2018) மாநாட்டில் இரண்டு புதிய செயற்கை நுண்திறன் நுண் சில்லுகளை (Artificial Intelligence (AI) Chip) வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.
  • அவை Edge TPU மற்றும் Cloud IoT Edge ஆகியன ஆகும்.

 

 

• பெய்டோ 3 (Peido – 3) மற்றும் மார்க் 3பி (Mark – 3B) என்னும் இரட்டை செயற்கை கோளை சீனா தனது தொலை தொடர்பு பணிகளுக்காக விண்ணில் செலுத்தியுள்ளது.
  • பெய்டோ – 3 என்ற பெயரில் அனுப்பப்பட்ட செயற்கை கோள் சாலை கட்டமைப்பு மற்றும் வழிப்பாதைக்காகவும், மார்க் – 3பி என்று பெயரிடப்பட்ட மற்றொரு செயற்கைக் கோள் ஜி.பி.எஸ். பயன் பாட்டுக்காகவும் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது.

• Rajasthan Government signed an MoU with a private trust Sohanlalji Buladeviji Ojha Gaushala Samiti to build its first ‘Cow Sanctuary’, a shelter for 10000 cows.

 

• Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh launched the 215 crore Meghalaya Milk Mission in Shillong through National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC).

 

• Government set up a High Level Empowered Committee headed by Cabinet Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha to address the issues of Stressed Thermal Power Projects.

 

• Unified Commanders’ Conference (UCC) 2018 is held in New Delhi.
  • Unified Commanders’ Conference (UCC) 2018 is conducted under the guidance of Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS). It aims to review external security challenges and the preparedness of India.

• President Ram Nath Kovind launched Chhattisgarh government’s Sanchar Kranti Yojna at Jagdalpur in the Naxal-affected Bastar region of the state. Under the scheme, 50 lakh smart phones will be distributed free of cost to the people.
  • The Micromax Bhagat 4, with 2 GB Ram, processor of 1.4 GHz, 16 GB storage, five megapixel front camera and an eight megapixel rear camera with five-inch screen will be distributed to the college students under the scheme.

 

INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

• The 3rd BRICS Film Festival was held in Durban, South Africa, along with the International Durban Film Festival (DIFF). The last day of the festival was celebrated as India Country Day.

 

• The first Nepal-India Think Tank Summit has begun in Kathmandu to foster greater collaboration and knowledge-sharing among the think tanks of the two countries. The summit is being jointly organized by the Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs and Nehru Memorial Museum Library.

 

APPOINTMENTS

• Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla has been appointed as the next Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command.

SPORTS

• Sourabh Verma beat Koki Watanabe to lift the Russian Open Badminton trophy 2018.
  • The 2018 Russian Open, was a badminton tournament which took place at Sport Hall Olympic in Vladivostok, Russia from 24 to 29 July 2018.

 

IMPORTANT DAYS

 

• 30th July 2018, World Day against Trafficking in Persons was observed all over the world.
  • This day is observed to create awareness about the condition of victims of human trafficking and for promotion and protection of their rights.
  • Theme: ‘Responding to the trafficking of children and young people’ has been declared as theme for World Day against Trafficking in Persons 2018 by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
