  • கிருஷ்ணகிரி மாவட்டம் அஞ்செட்டி அருகே உள்ள மிலிதிகி கிராமத்தில் 2500 ஆண்டுகள் ‘பழைமையான இசை பாறை” கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
    • இந்த அதிசய பாறையானது 2500 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் வாழ்ந்த கற்கால மனிதர்கள் தங்கள் வழிபாட்டுக்கு சடங்கு இசை எழுப்ப பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டது என அறியப்படுகிறது.

  • சுலாபக் ஜல் திட்டம் – அசுத்தமான குளம் மற்றும் நதிநீரை சுத்தமான குடிநீராக மாற்றும் இத்திட்டம் பீகார் மாநிலத்தில் தர்பங்கா மாவட்டத்தில் தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
    • இத்திட்டத்தின் மூலம் உலகிலேயே பீகார் மாநிலம் மிக மலிவான குடிநீரை வழங்கவுள்ளது.

  • நம்பிக்கையில்லா தீர்மானம் பற்றி:
    • இந்திய பாராளுமன்ற வரலாற்றில், மத்திய அரசுக்கு எதிராக இதுவரை 27 முறை நம்பிக்கையில்லா தீர்மானம் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டுள்ளது.

  • இந்தியா – ஆசியான் கடல்சார் ஒத்துழைப்பை வலுப்படுத்துதல் “Strengthening India – ASEN Maritime Cooperation” தொடர்பான 10வது டெல்லி உரையாடல் மாநாடு (Delhi Dialogue – X) புதுடெல்லியில் நடைபெற்றது.

  • குஜராத் கடற்கரையிலுள்ள காம்பாட் வளைகுடாவில் கடல் காற்று வளத்தை மதிப்பீடு செய்வதற்காக LiDAR என்னும் தொலையுணர்வு கருவியை தேசிய காற்று ஆற்றல் நிறுவனம் (National Institute Of wind Energy – NIWE) நிறுவியுள்ளது.

  • இந்தியாவுக்கான இலங்கை தூதராக ஆஸ்டின் பெர்னாண்டோ என்பவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

 

  • இந்தியா மற்றும் கானா இடையே இருதரப்பு ஒத்துழைப்பை மேம்படுத்த இரண்டு ஒப்பந்தங்கள் கையெழுத்தாகியுள்ளன.
    • பண்பாட்டு பரிவர்த்தனை திட்டம் (Cultural Exchange Programme)
    • இந்திய தர நிர்ணய அமைப்பு மற்றும் கானா தர நிர்ணய அமைப்பு ஆகியவற்றிற்கும் இடையே ஒத்துழைப்பு.

  • அலுமினியம்: தி ஃபியூச்சர் மெட்டல் (Aluminium : The Future Metal) என்ற புத்தகத்தை ‘தபன் குமார் சந்த்’ என்பவர் எழுதியுள்ளார்.

NATIONAL NEWS

 

  • The 8th BRICS Health Ministers’ Meeting was held at Durban, South Africa.  Indian deligation was led by Mr J P Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare. He stated that India is committed to eliminating TB by 2025.
  • NOTE:
    • BRICS is made up of China, Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa.
    • In December 2010, China, as the Chair, invited South Africa to join BRIC and attend the Summit in Sanya, China.
    • The 1st BRIC Summit was held in June 2009 in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

 

  • The Tamil Nadu government has informed the Madras High Court that a 24-hour helpline has been set up to investigate issues faced by inter-caste couples and offer them necessary assistance and protection.

 

  • Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched ‘e-Pragati portal’, a digital platform for governance in the state, would help to connect all the state government departments and act as a stand-alone to resolve the issues.

 

  • Myanmar has joined the India-initiated International Solar Alliance (ISA), becoming the 68th member of the grouping that is aiming at optimum utilisation of solar energy.
    • ISA was Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then French President Francois Hollande at the Paris climate summit in 2015.

 

  • The Student Police Cadet (SPC) Programme is scheduled to be launched nationally on the 21st July, 2018 by the Union Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh.
    • The programme seeks to build a bridge between the Police and the larger community through school students by inculcating values and ethics in them through classes in school and outside.

 

  • A 2 day International conference on “Empowering Women: Fostering Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Sustainability” was organized by NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) and Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Office of International Programmes (OIP) University of Delhi.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

 

  • Myanmar has joined the India-initiated International Solar Alliance (ISA), becoming the 68th member of the grouping that is aiming at optimum utilisation of solar energy.
    • The International Solar Alliance was launched jointly by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Francois Hollande on the first day of the COP-21 summit at Paris in 2015.

 

  • The US State Department has announced that the inaugural ‘two-plus-two dialogue’ between India and the United States will be held in New Delhi.

 

  • The UN has entered into a partnership with Google to monitor the impacts of human activity on global ecosystems by using sophisticated online tools.
    • The partnership was launched during the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at the UN headquarters in New York.

 

ECONOMY

 

  • According to Asian Development Bank (ADB), India will continue to be the world’s fastest growing major economy, ahead of China, with 7.3 per cent growth rate in 2018-19 and 7.6 percent in 2019-20.

 

SCIENCE&TECHNOLOGY

 

  • Facebook has confirmed it is working on a new satellite project, named Athena, that will provide broadband internet connections to rural and underserved areas.
    • The company aims to launch satellite in early 2019. In 2016, Facebook’s internet satellite for Africa was lost when SpaceX’s rocket exploded.
