• சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதுகாப்பு, ஆற்றல் மேலாண்மை ஆகியவற்றின் கீழ் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள, சென்னை மெட்ரோ ரயில் தலைமை அலுவலக கட்டிடத்துக்கு அமெரிக்க நிறுவனமான யு.எஸ்.கிரீன் பில்டிங் கவுன்சில் விருது அளித்து சிறப்பித்துள்ளது.

 

 

 

இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• மத்திய அரசு வெளியிட்டுள்ள நாட்டிலுள்ள கல்வி நிறுவனங்களுக்கான தரவரிசைப் பட்டியலில் பெங்களுரிலுள்ள இந்திய அறிவியல் இன்ஸ்டிடியூட் (ஐஐஎஸ்சி) முதலிடத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளது.
  • சென்னை ஐஐடி உயர்கல்வி நிறுவனம் 2-வது இடத்தைப் பிடித்துள்ளது.

 

 

 

• மாநிலங்களவையின் கூட்டத் தொடரில் இதுவரை அனுமதிக்கப்படாமல் இருந்த சிந்தி, டோக்ரி, காஷ்மீசி, கொங்கனி மற்றும் சான்டலி ஆகிய 5 மொழிகளில் உறுப்பினர்கள் பேச அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
  • மாநிலங்களவையில் இனி 22 இந்திய மொழிகளில் விவாதிக்கலாம் என அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• மிசோ நத்லாக் சர்வதேச பண்பாட்டு கலைவிழா (MIZO Hrahthak International Cultural Festival) என்ற பாரம்பரிய பண்பாட்டை வெளிப்படுத்தும் கலைவிழா மிசோரம் மாநிலம் ஐஸால் நகரில் (Aizawal) நடைபெற்றுள்ளது.

 

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• ஐக்கிய அரசு அமீரக நாட்டில் 18 வயது முதல் 30 வயதுள்ள இளைஞர்கள் ராணுவத்தில் கட்டாய பணிபுரிய வேண்டும் என்ற சட்டம் 2014 முதல் அமலில் உள்ளது. அதன்படி 12 மாதம் இராணுவத்தில் சேவையாற்ற வேண்டும்.
  • தற்போது UAE  அரசானது 12 மாதத்திலிருந்து 16 மாதமாக உயர்த்தியுள்ளது.

 

 

 

• நேட்டோ (NATO) நாடுகளின் தலைவர்கள் பங்கேற்கும் நேட்டோ கூட்டணிப் படை மாநாடு பெல்ஜியத்தின் தலைநகர் பிரஸல்சில் நடைபெற்றது.
  • இதில் “எல்லைகளற்ற தேசம்” என்ற புதிய கொள்கையை அந்த அமைப்பு முன்னெடுத்துள்ளது.

• சர்வதேச டி20 பேட்ஸ்மன்களுக்கான தரவரிசைப் பட்டியலை ஐசிசி (ICC) வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.
  • இதில் ஆஸ்திரேலியாவின் ஆரோன் பின்ச் முதலிடம் பிடித்துள்ளது.
  • இரண்டாம் மற்றும் மூன்றாம் இடம் முறையே பாகிஸ்தானின் பஹர் ஜமான் மற்றும் இந்தியாவின் கே.எல் ராகுல் ஆகியோர் பிடித்துள்ளனர்.

 

 

 

அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பம்

 

• பாகிஸ்தான் நாட்டின் பிரஸ்-1 மற்றும் பாக்டெஸ்-1ஏ ஏவுகணைகளை சுமந்து செல்லும் மார்ச் – 2சி இராக்கெட்டை சீன அரசானது வெற்றிகரமாக விண்ணில் செலுத்தியுள்ளது.
  • பிரஸ் – 1 பாகிஸ்தானுக்காக சீனா வடிவமைத்த முதல் ஆப்டிகல் வகை தொலை உணர்வு செயற்கை கோள் ஆகும்.
  • பாக்டெஸ் – 1ஏ – பாகிஸ்தானிலேயே உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

 

• பார்கர் (Parkar) விண்கலம் – சூரியனை ஆய்வு செய்வதற்காக இந்த விண்கலத்தை ஆகஸ்ட் 4ம் தேதி நாசாவானது விண்ணில் செலுத்தவுள்ளது.
  • இந்த விண்கலத்திற்கு 2500 பாரன்ஹீட் வெப்பத்தை தாங்கும் கவசம் பொருத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

  • இந்தியாவில் முதல் மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு 1872-ல் எடுக்கப்பட்டது. (10-ஆண்டுக்கு ஒருமுறை இந்தியாவில் மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு எடுக்கப்படுகிறது)
    2011ம் ஆண்டு எடுக்கப்பட்ட கணக்கெடுப்பு இந்தியாவின் 15வது மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு ஆகும்.

NATIONAL NEWS

• After Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh Government is all set to ban the use of plastic and thermocol cutlery in the state.

 

• The Global Innovation Index (GII) has ranked India as the 57^th most innovative nation in the world.
  • The country has improved its ranking from 60th position last year.
  • India has been improving steadily since it was ranked 81st in 2015.
  • Switzerland ranked for 8th straight year.

 

• Microsoft India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan government to improve the integration of technology in teaching and skilling of students and educators in government colleges.

 

• Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, released the final rankings of States in Ease of Doing Business in New Delhi.
  • The top rankers are Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Haryana. Jharkhand and Gujarat stood fourth and fifth respectively.
  • Tamil Nadu has 15th position for ease of doing business.

 

• Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Ananthkumar inaugurated the CIPET: Centre for Skilling & Technical Support (CSTS) at ITI Building and laid the foundation stone of new Central Institute of Plastics Engineering &Technology (CIPET) Building at Doiwala, Dehradun.
  • CIPET: CSTS, Dehradun is the 32nd CIPET centre in the country.

 

• India has become the world’s sixth-biggest economy, pushing France into seventh place, according to updated World Bank figures for 2017.

 

• India’s gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to $2.597 trillion at the end of 2017, against $2.582 trillion for France.

• Scientists have discovered the world’s oldest colours. 1 billion-year-old bright pink pigments, extracted from rocks deep beneath the Sahara desert in Africa, have finally been traced.

IMPORTANT DAYS

• World Population Day: 11 July
  • World Population Day was established by the then-governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989. The theme of WPD 2018 is ‘Family Planning is a Human Right’. This day seeks to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues.

• The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that there is a need to revive Theatre and make it a prominent form of education and entertainment.
  • He was addressing the gathering after releasing the book ‘Two Classical Plays from India’, an English translation of Hindi plays written by well-known playwright Shri D.P. Sinha.
