உலக செய்திகள்

 

 

• உலக அளவில் பணக்கார நகரங்களின் பட்டியலில் நியூயார்க் நகரம் முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது. லண்டன் மற்றும் டோக்கியோ 2, 3வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது. மும்பை(இந்தியா) 12வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது.

 

• இந்தியா – அபுதாபி இடையே கையெழுத்தான ஒப்பந்தத்தை அடுத்து, அபுதாபியில், இந்தியாவின் முதல் முதலீடு பெட்ரோலியத் துறை ஆகும்.

தேசிய செய்திகள்

 

 

• உச்ச நீதிமன்றத்தில் விசாரணை நடக்கும் நீதிமன்ற அறைகளில் வழக்கறிஞர்கள் செல்போன் பயன்படுத்த தடை விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

• பொலிவுறு நகரங்கள் திட்டத்துக்காக மாநிலங்களுக்கு மத்திய அரசு இதுவரை ரூ.9,940 கோடியை ஒதுக்கியுள்ளது.

 

• பள்ளிகளில் கரும்பலகைக்களுக்கு பதிலாக ‘ஸ்மார்ட் போர்டுகள்’ அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்படும் என மத்திய மனிதவள மேம்பாட்டுத் துறை இணையமைச்சர் ‘உபேந்திர குஷ்வாகா’ தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

• கொழும்பு (இலங்கை) மாநகராட்சி தொடங்கி 152 ஆண்டுகள் நிறைவடைந்துள்ள நிலையில் முதல் முறையாக பெண் மேயராக முன்னாள் உலக அழகியான ரோசி சேனாநாயக்க தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

 

• பிரான்சு-இந்தியா சங்கங்களின் கூட்டமைப்பு தலைவராக பா.தசரதன் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

 

வர்த்தக செய்திகள்

 

 

• எஞ்சின் கோளாறு காரணமாக A320 ரக விமானங்களில் 3 விமானங்களின் சேவையை இண்டிகோ விமான நிறுவனம் நிறுத்தி வைத்துள்ளது.

 

• 2016-2017ம் நிதியாண்டில் பாரத் ஸ்டேட் வங்கியின் வாராக்கடன் மதிப்பு ரூ.20,339 கோடி ஆகும்.

 

• இந்தியாவில் குறைந்த வட்டி விகிதத்தில் வீட்டு கடன் அளிக்கும் வங்கிகள் பட்டியலில் எஸ்பிஐ முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது. 8.30 சதவீதம் முதல் 5.60 சதவீதம் வரையிலான வட்டி விகிதத்தின் அடிப்படையில் வீட்டுக் கடனை அளிக்கின்றது.

 

• ஹிந்துஸ்தான் பெட்ரோலியம் கார்ப்பரேஷன்(ஹெச்பிசிஎல்) 3வது காலாண்டில் ரூ.1,950 கோடி லாபம் ஈட்டியுள்ளது.

National news

• A record was set on the second day of Rajim Kumbh Melain Chhattisgarh after over 2,100 saints and locals blew ‘shankh’ (conch shells) together. Golden Book of World Records certified the record. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh had inaugurated Rajim Kumbh Mela and Ganga Aarti performance at banks of river Mahanadi in Gariyaband’s Rajim.

 

• The central government has approved the construction of over 86 lakhmore houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) scheme, taking the total number of affordable houses sanctioned to over 39.25 lakhs.

 

• Integrated Automatic Aviation Meteorological system was inaugurated at INS Garuda, a naval air station located in Kochi, Kerala. INS Garuda has become the fourth naval air station to be the part of this integrated system

 

• Union Minster of health and family welfare, JP Nadda launched National Deworming Day-10

 

• National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has floated a Request for Proposal (RFP) to implement ‘Pay as You Use’ tolling on the Delhi-Mumbai Highway, for which bids are expected to be submitted by February 26. The pilot project involves implementing a satellite based electronic toll collection system running on GPS/GSMtechnology for around 500 commercial vehicles on the Delhi-Mumbai National Highway.

 

• Prime Minister Modi will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural day of the World Government Summit in Dubai India has been given the status of Guest of Honour at summit. More than 140 countries are participating in the summit.

 

• Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has launched the centre for learning Sanskrit language in Gujarat University, Ahmedabad

 

• India and Palestine has signed six memorandums of understandings worth USD 40 million. This was welcomed by Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas

• Ministry of Power has launched Web based monitoring System and Fly Ash mobile application named ASH TRACK. It was launched by Minister of State (IC) for Power and New & Renewable EnergyK Singh in New Delhi. These platforms will enable better management of fly ash produced by thermal power plant and potential ash users such as –cement plants, road contractors etc…. 

1. ASH TRACK App: The app shows coal based power plants situated within radius of 100 km and 300 km from a given location. It will allow user to select power station from where he wants to take fly ash. It will also show ash availability distance from user location

Finance and Banking

• Direct tax collections grew by nearly 20 per centbetween April and January this year with strong growth in both corporate and personal income tax receipts. According to official data released, net direct tax collections grew by 19.3 per cent up to January 2018 to Rs 6.95-lakh crore.

 

• The country’s largest lender SBI wrote off bad loans worth Rs 20,339 crore in 2016-17, the highest among all the public sector banks, which had a collective, write off of Rs 81,683 crore for the fiscal. The data pertains to the period when the associate banks of State Bank of India (SBI) were not merged with it.

 

• Besides SBI, Punjab National Bank had a write-off of Rs 9,205 crore in 2016-17, followed by Bank of India (Rs 7,346 crore), Canara Bank (Rs 5,545 crore) and Bank of Baroda (Rs 4,348 crore).
