இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• சேவை, தொழில்நுட்பம், வளங்கள் மற்றும் விஞ்ஞானம் போன்ற கடல் மேம்பாட்டு நடவடிக்கைகளில் 16 துணைத் திட்டங்களை உள்ளடக்கிய O-Smart (Ocean Services, Technology, observation, resources modeling and Science) எனும் திட்டத்தை புவி அறிவியல் அமைச்சகம் ஒரே குடையின் கீழ் செயல்படுத்த மத்திய பொருளாதார விவகாரங்களுக்கான அமைச்சரவை குழு ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளது.

 

 

• ராஜஸ்தான் மாநிலத்தின் ‘‘24 × 7 மின்சார வழங்கல்’ திட்டத்தின் கீழ் அதன் மின்சாரம் விநியோகத் துறையின் செயல்திறனை மேம்படுத்துவதற்காக 250 மில்லியன் டாலர் கடன் ஒப்பந்தத்தில் (Develop Policy loan) மத்திய அரசு, ராஜஸ்தான் மற்றும் உலக வங்கி கையெழுத்திட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

• உலகின் மிகப்பெரிய வெளிப்படையான புதியனகாண் இயக்கத்தின் மூன்றாவது பதிப்பு – ஸ்மார்ட் இந்தியா ஹாகதான் 2019-(SIH) என்ற பெயரில் மனிதவள மேம்பாட்டிற்கான மத்திய அமைச்சர் பிரகாஷ் ஜவடேகர் புது டெல்லியில் தொடங்கி, வைத்தார்.
  • Smart India Hackathon 2019 (SIC- 2019)-ன் மூலம் நாட்டில் உள்ள தனியார், பொதுத்துறை தொழிற்சாலைகள் மற்றும் அரசு சாரா நிறுவனங்களில் ஏற்படும் தொழில்நுட்ப கேள்விகளுக்கு, இந்தியாவில் உள்ள தொழில்நுட்ப மாணவர்கள் தங்களது பதிலினை அனுப்ப ஒரு பிளாட்பார்ம் அமைத்துள்ளது.
  • இதன் மூலம் மாணவர்கள் தங்களது திறமைகளை வெளிக்கொணரவும் முடியும்.

 

 

• மத்திய பிரதேச மாநிலத்தின் நீர்பாசன மறைகள் மற்றும் அவற்றின் திறன்களை அதிகரித்து அம்மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள ‘விவசாயிகளின் வருமானத்தை இரட்டிப்பாக்க 375 மில்லியன் டாலர் கடன் ஒப்பந்தத்தில் இந்திய அரசு மற்றும் ஆசிய மேம்பாட்டு வங்கி(ADB) இடையே ஒப்பந்தம் கையெழுத்தாகி உள்ளது.
• குறிப்பு:
  • ADB – Asian Development Bank
  • ADB– டிசம்பர் 19, 1966ல் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
  •  இதன் தலைமையகம் பிலிப்பைன்ஸ் நாட்டின் மனிலாவில் உள்ளது.

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள் 

 

• பிராந்திய ஒத்துழைப்புக்கான தெற்காசிய சங்கம் (SAARC – South Asian Association For Regional Cooperation) சார்பில், முதன் முதலாக விவசாய கூட்டுறவு வணிக மன்றம் (Agri Cooperative Business Form) நேபாளத்தின் தலைநகர் காத்மண்டுவில் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது.
• இம்மன்றத்தின் கருப்பொருள்:
  • தெற்கு ஆசியாவின் நிலையான மேம்பாட்டு இலக்குகளை அடைவதற்கு பண்னைகளை ஒழுங்கமைத்தல் மற்றும் வலுப்படுத்துதல் (Organizing and Strengthening Family Farmers)
• குறிப்பு: SAARC:
  • சார்க் அமைப்பானது டிசம்பர் 8, 1985ல் வங்காளதேசத்தின் டாக்கா நகரில் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
    இதன் தலைமையகம் நேபாளத்தின் காத்மண்டுவில் உள்ளது.

விளையாட்டு நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• இந்தோனேசியாவின் ஜகர்த்தாவில் நடைபெற்றுவரும் 18வது ஆசிய விளையாட்டு போட்டியில் 48 ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு டிரிபிள் ஜம்ப் பிரிவில் இந்தியாவின் அர்பிந்தர் சிங் 16.77மீ தொலைவுத் தாண்டி தங்கம் வென்று சாதனைப் படைத்துள்ளார்.
  • உஸ்பெகிஸ்தான் வீரர் ரஸ்லன் குர்பனோவ் வெள்ளிப்பதக்கதையும் சீன வீரர் ஷீ காவோ வெண்கலத்தையும் கைப்பற்றினர்.

 

 

அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பம்  

 

• டெல்லியில் நடைபெற்ற Google for India – வின் நான்காவது பதிப்பில், இந்திய வட்டார செய்தி வெளியீட்டாளர்கள் ஆன்லைனில் அவர்களின் உள்ளடக்கத்தை வெளியிட உதவுவதற்காக ‘புராஜெக்ட் நாவலேகா’ என்னும் திட்டத்தினை அறிமுகம் செய்துள்ளது.

• தேசிய விளையாட்டு தினம் – ஆகஸ்ட் 29
  • ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம் 29ம் தேதி இந்தியாவின் விளையாட்டு தினமாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
  • மறைந்த ஹாக்கி ஜாம்பவான் தயான் சந்த்-ஐ கௌரவிக்கும் விதமாக அவர் பிறந்த நாளின் (ஆகஸ்ட் 29, 1905) நினைவாக தேசிய விளையாட்டு தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

 

 

 

வர்த்தக நிகழ்வுகள் 

 

• நடப்பு நிதியாண்டில், ஜி.டி.பி. எனப்படும் மொத்த உள்நாட்டு உற்பத்தி, 7.4 சதவீதமாக வளர்ச்சி காணும் என ரிசர்வ் வங்கி மதிப்பீடு செய்துள்ளது.
  • ஜி.டி.பி கடந்த ஆண்டில் 6.7 சதவீதமாக இருந்தது.

NATIONAL NEWS

• Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been invited by the United Nations (UN) to deliver a keynote address at an event, titled ‘Financing Sustainable Agriculture: Global Challenges and Opportunities’ – to be organised on the sideline of the annual UN General Assembly in New York on September 24.
  • “UN Environment is privileged to support your ambitious efforts to scale-out zero chemical farming to 6 million farmers across the state by 2024,” he said.

 

• The Central government and the World Bank have signed 300 million dollar loan agreements for India Energy Efficiency Scale up Programme. They signed 220 million dollar Loan Agreement and an 80 million Guarantee Agreement for the Efficiency Scale-Up Program.

 

• A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and National Health Agency (NHA), to provide capacity building for Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) to ensure effective rollout and continued quality implementation.

 

• In order to meet the challenge of providing sustainable livelihoods for a rapidly growing population and to motivate and attract youth in agriculture, Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), inaugurated a two-day conference at NASC, New Delhi on Motivating and Attracting Youth in Agriculture (MAYA).

 

• The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, and the International Energy Agency (IEA) signed an MoU on Enhancing Innovation for Clean Energy Transition.

 

• The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will outsource the production of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicles (PSLVs) and Small Satellite Launch Vehicles (SSLVs) to private Industries. The Indian Space agency Chairman K Sivan informed that private industries will play a major role in capacity building.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

• Union Minister of Commerce& Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu, is leading the Indian delegation for the 6th RCEP Trade Ministers’ Meeting which begins in
  • The Minister will participate in the meeting consisting of 10 ASEAN countries and six ASEAN FTA partners namely, India, China, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand. The meeting is being held on 30th-31st August 2018.

 

• After having been deployed to the South China Sea and Pacific Ocean for over four months, which included representing Indian Navy in multinational exercises MALABAR 18 at Guam and RIMPAC 18 at Hawaii, INS Sahyadri entered the Port of Darwin, Australia on 29 Aug 18 to participate in Exercise KAKADU 2018.

 

ECONOMY

• The Reserve Bank expects India’s economic growth rate to grow at 7.4% in the current financial year on pick up in industrial activity and good monsoon.
  • RBI releasing its annual report in Mumbai said due to the evolving economic conditions, real GDP growth for 2018-19 is expected to increase to 7.4 per cent from 6.7 percent in the previous year.

 

SPORTS

• India won gold in the women’s 4X400 metre The Indian quartet of Hima Das, Raju Poovamma, Saritaben Laxmanbhai Gayakwad and Vismaya Koroth registered a time of 3 minutes and 28.72 seconds to finish at the top of the podium. India clinched the silver medal in the men’s 4X400 metre event.

 

• India’s Jinson Johnson claimed the gold medal in the men’s 1500m event in the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Manjit Singh, 800m champion, however, finished fourth.

 

AWARDS

• Indian poet-diplomat Abhay K. has become the first Indian poet invited to record his poems at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. in ‘The Poet and the Poem’ series conducted by poet Grace Cavalieri.
  • He is the author of a memoir and seven collections of poems including The Seduction of Delhi (2014), The Eight-eyed Lord of Kathmandu (2017) and The Prophecy of Brasilia (2018). He received the SAARC Literary Award in 2013.
