இதன் தலைநகரமாக டெல்லி உள்ளது. இதன் தற்போதைய தலைவர் – R.L. தத்து
நிலவினை பற்றிய ஆய்விற்காக இந்தியாவால் அனுப்பப்படும் சந்திராயன் – 2 விண்கலம் 2019-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி – 3 ஆம் தேதி விண்ணில் செலுத்த உள்ளதாக இஸ்ரோ தலைவர் சிவன் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
மேலும் PSLV C – 42 என்ற ராக்கெட் மூலம் பிரிட்டனின் இரண்டு வர்த்தக செயற்கோளை செப்டம்பர் – 2018 ல் அனுப்ப இஸ்ரோ திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது.

நேபாளத்தின் தலைநகர் காத்மண்டு நகரில், “பன்னாட்டு தகவல் தொடர்பு ஒருங்கிணைப்பு திட்டம் (MCIP) என்ற தலைப்பில், ஆசிய – பசுபிக் பிராந்திய நாடுகளுக்கான பசுபிக் எண்டெவர் – 2018 தொடர்பு பயிற்சி (Pacific Endeavor – 2018) நடைபெற்றுள்ளது.
ஆசிய – பசுபிக் பிராந்தியத்தின் இராணுவப் படைகள் இடையே பேரழிவு தொடர்பான ஒருங்கிணைப்புகளை மேற்கொள்வதற்காக, பொதுவான தகவல் தொடர்பு செயல்முறைகளை உருவாக்குவது என்பதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டு இப்பயிற்சி நடைபெற்றுள்ளது.

கனடாவில் நடைபெற்ற ரோஜர்ஸ் கோப்பை டென்னிஸ் போட்டியில் ஆண்கள் ஒற்றையர் பிரிவில் ‘நம்பர் ஒன்’ ரபெல் நடால் (ஸ்பெயின்), ரஷ்யாவின் கரென் காச்சனோவை வென்று சாம்பியன் பட்டம் வென்றார்.

அழிந்து வரும் யானை இனத்தை காப்பாற்றுவதற்காகவும், இதற்காக சமூகத்தில் விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்துவதற்காகவும் ஆண்டு தோறும் ஆகஸ்ட் 12 அன்று உலக யானைகள் தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.

உள்நாட்டு மொழிகளின் குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வுக்காக, ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் பொதுச் சபை, 2019-ஆம் ஆண்டினை, “சர்வதேச உள்நாட்டு மொழிகள் ஆண்டாக” (International Year of Indigenous Languages – 2019) கடைபிடிக்க முடிவு செய்துள்ளது.

இவர் எழுதிய பிரபலமான புத்தகங்கள்:
1971-ஆம் ஆண்டு இன் ஏ ப்ரீ ஸ்டேட்(In a Free State) என்ற புத்தகத்துக்காக மேன் புக்கர் விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது.
2001- ஆம் ஆண்டு இலக்கியத்துக்கான நோபல் பரிசு கிடைத்தது.
இந்தியாவைக் குறித்து An Area of darkness, A wounded Civilization போன்ற புத்தகங்களை நைபால் எழுதியுள்ளார்.
‘Devil’s Advocate : The Untold Story” என்ற புத்தகத்தை சமீபத்தில் “கரண் தாப்பர்” என்பவர் எழுதியுள்ளார்.

Israel has opened a Visa Application Centre in Kolkata for tourists from West Bengal and the northeastern states to encourage more Indian travelers to visit that country. Israel recently announced a reduction in visa fees to INR 1,100rupees from its previous 1,700 charged from Indians.

Nepal-India Literature Festival 2018 has begun in Birgunj, Nepal. The festival was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Province 2 Mohammad Lalbabu Raut. The festival is aimed at strengthening Indo-Nepal ties.
On this occasion, eminent writers from both the countries were also felicitated. Around 250 participants from India and Nepal attending the two-day festival. The event is organised by NepalIndia Co-operation Forum.
A special meeting of Senior Officials of the Bay of Bengal Initiatives for Multi-Sectoral, Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) was held in Kathmandu today. The meeting also agreed to recommend a theme “Towards a peaceful, Prosperous and Sustainable Bay of Bengal Region” for the Summit.

Justice M R Shah has been appointed as Chief Justice of Patna High Court. He became a judge of the GujaratHighCourt on March 7, 2004 and was confirmed as permanent judge on June 22, 2005.
Justice Rajendra Menon was sworn in as the new Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court by Lt Governor Anil Baijal at a ceremony held at the Raj Niwas in New Delhi.

India will launch its second lunar mission “Chandrayaan-2” on January 3, 2019, to land on the moon with a lander and rover. According to Indian Space Research Organisation Chairman K. Sivan, ISRO is aiming to launch the mission but the window to land on the lunar surface is open till March 2019.
The 800-crore rupees is the cost of lunar mission named “Chandrayaan-2”. The 3,890-kg Chandrayaan-2, which will be launched onboard the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mk-3, will orbit around the moon and study its lunar conditions to collect data on its topography, mineralogy and exosphere.
NASA’s Parker Solar Probe, the world’s first mission to touch the Sun, was launched from Space Launch Complex37 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, in United States.
The Parker Solar Probe was carried by a United Launch Alliance Delta IVHeavyrocket.
The Parker Solar Probe has been sent on a 7 year long mission to study the Sun’s outer atmosphere and its effects space weather.on
