இந்திய நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• ‘மிஷன் சத்யா நிஷ்தா (Mission Sathyanishtha) திட்டம் – இந்திய இரயில்வேத் துறை அமைச்சகமானது, இரயில்வே ஊழியர்கள் பணியிடத்தில் நல்ல நெறிமுறைகளை (Good ethics) கடைபிடிக்கவும், உயர் தரத்திலான நேர்மையை (High Standards of Integrity) பின்பற்றவும் அவர்களுக்கு பயிற்சி அளிக்க ‘மிஷன் சத்யா நிஷ்தா’ திட்டத்தை தொடங்கியுள்ளது.

 

 

• ‘மொமைல் திஹார் (Mobile Tihar) திருவிழா – சத்தீஸ்கர் மாநில அரசானது, கிராமப்புறங்களில் உள்ள 45 லட்சம் பெண்கள் மற்றும் 5 லட்சம் மாணவர்களுக்கு ஸ்மார்ட் போன் வழங்குவதற்காக ‘மொபைல் திஹார்’ திருவிழா நடத்தப்பட்டது.
  இந்த திருவிழா அம்மாநிலத்தின் ‘சன்சார் கிராந்தி யோஜனா’(Sanchar Kranti Yojana) திட்டத்தின் கீழ் நடத்தப்பட்டது.

 

 

• நாட்டில் முதல் முறையாக உயிரி எரிபொருள் கொள்கையை (Bio – Fuel Policy) ‘ராஜஸ்தான்’ மாநில அரசு அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
• இலக்கு
  • 2030ம் ஆண்டிற்குள் அனைத்து வாகனங்களிலும் 20 சதவீதம் எத்தனால் கலக்கப்பட்ட பெட்ரோல் மற்றும் 5 சதவீதம் பயோ டீசல் கலக்கப்பட்ட டீசல் போன்றவை எரிபொருளாக உபயோகிக்க இலக்கு நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

• சேவ் போஜ் யோஜனா (Seva Bhaj Yojana) மத்திய கலாச்சார அமைச்சகம் (Ministry of Cultural) சேவ் போஜ் யோஜனா திட்டத்தை ஆகஸ்ட் 01, 2018 முதல் நடைமுறைப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.

  • மத்திய கலாச்சார அமைச்சகமானது மக்களுக்கு இலவச உணவினை வழங்குகின்ற அனைத்து மத தொண்டு நிறுவனங்களுக்கும் (Charitable Religious Institutions) சிறப்பு நிதியியல் உதவியினை வழங்க திட்டத்தை தொடங்கியுள்ளது.
    தகுதியுடைய தொண்டு நிறுவனங்கள் அனைத்தும் கண்டிப்பாக (DARPAN.Portal -ல்) பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டு இருக்க வேண்டும்

 

 

உலக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் அவை வெளியிட்டுள்ள, 2018 மின் – ஆளுமைக் குறியீட்டு பட்டியலில் (United nation’s E Government Index – 2018) மொத்தம் 193 நாடுகளில் இந்தியா 96வது இடத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளது.
  டென்மார்க் நாடு, 2018-மின் ஆளுமைக் குறியீடு பட்டியலில் முதலிடத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளது.

 

 

• உலக வானியல் நிறுவனத்தின் (WMO) சார்பாக வியட்நாம், இலங்கை, மியான்மர் மற்றும் தாய்லாந்து ஆகிய ஆசிய நாடுகளுக்கு வெள்ள முன்னறிவிப்பு (Advance warning of floods) அறிவிப்பதற்கான தலைமை மையமாக (Modal Agency) இந்தியா தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• Wow– செயலி – பெண்களின் ஆரோக்கியத்தை பாதுகாக்க மற்றும் மேம்படுத்த இந்திய தொழில் வர்த்தக சபையின் (FICCI) பெண்கள் பிரிவு சார்பில் ‘Wow’ என்னும் செயலி சென்னையில் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

விருதுகள்

 

• 3வது பிரிக்ஸ் நாடுகளுக்கிடையேயான திரைப்பட திருவிழா (BRICS Film Festival) தென் ஆப்பிரிக்கா நாட்டின் ‘டர்பன்’ (Durban) நகரில் நடைபெற்று முடிந்துள்ளது.
  • இதில் இந்திய திரைப்படமான ‘நியூட்டன்’ (Newton) சிறந்த திரைப்படமாக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• தேசிய காகித தினம்(National Papers Day)
  • இந்தியாவில் முதன் முறையாக 2018 ஆகஸ்ட் 1-ல் காகித தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
  • 1940- ஆகஸ்ட் 1-ம் தேதி, ஜவஹர்லால் நேரு புனேயில் ‘பேப்பர் டெல்ஸ்’ என்ற கைவினை காகித ஆலையை தொடங்கி வைத்தார்.
  • இந்தியாவின் முதல் காகித ஆலை துவங்கப்பட்டதன் அடையாளமாக காகித தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

 

 

வர்த்தக நிகழ்வுகள்

 

• பண வீக்கம் காரணமாக, மத்திய ரிசர்வ் வங்கியானது ரெப்போ ரேட்டை 0.25 சதவீதம் உயர்த்தி 6.50 சதவீதமாக நிர்ணயித்துள்ளது.
• குறிப்பு (ரெப்போ ரேட்)
  • ரிசர்வ் வங்கியானது, அரசு வணிக வங்கிகளுக்கு வழங்கும் கடன்களுக்கு நிர்ணயிக்கப்படும் வட்டி விகிதம் ரெப்போ ரேட் என்றழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

 

 

 

English Current Affairs

 

NATIONAL NEWS

• India and Germany signed an agreement on financial and technical cooperation. According to this agreement, Germany will give nearly Rs 8,500 crore (1,055 million Euros) for development of India.
  • This will focus on sustainable urban development and renewable energy in areas of sanitation, solid waste management and promotion of urban mobility.

 

• Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH Shri Shripad Yesso Naik laid the foundation stone of the 2nd Phase of Construction of North East Institute of Ayurveda & Homeopathy (NEIAH) at NEIAH Campus in Mawdiangdiang, Shillong.

 

• To know the availability of vessels in the market, the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) launched a dedicated portal named FOCAL to connect cargo owners and shippers with real time data on availability of vessels.

 

• NITI Aayog is set to host an Investors’ Conference for the Holistic Development of Islands, at Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra in New Delhi.
  • This Conference will be inaugurated by Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog. It is expected to gain investment for the sustainable development of eco-tourism projects in Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep islands.

 

• A two-day Indo-US Military Cooperation Meeting began in New Delhi as a prelude to 2 plus 2 Dialogue between the two countries scheduled in September 2018. The meeting was co-chaired by Lt Gen Satish Dua, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) and Lt Gen Bryan Fenton, Deputy Commander, Indo-Pacific Command.

 

 INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

• To foster greater collaboration and knowledge-sharing among the think tanks of the two countries, ‘Nepal-India Think Tank’ Summit held in Kathmandu, Nepal.

 

• France’s Parliament has signed into law a controversial asylum and immigration bill. The bill is designed to accelerate asylum procedures by cutting the maximum processing time from the current 120 days to 90 days after entering France.
  • The United States Congress has passed the National Defense Authorisation Act-2019 (NDAA-19) which capped its security-related aid to Pakistan to $150 million, significantly below the historic level of more than $ 1 billion to $750 million per year.
  • This year’s defence legislation removes certain conditions like action against Haqqani network or Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) as was the case in the past few years for disbursement of US aid to Pakistan.

 

ECONOMY

• RBI hikes interest rate by 25% or 25 basis points on inflationary concerns.
  • RBI has raised benchmark repo, or the short term rate at which it lends to other banks, by 25 per cent to 6.5 per cent.
  • Reverse repo rate stands at 25%, Marginal Standing Facility stands at 6.75%.

• Akshay Venkatesh, a renowned Indian-Australian mathematician, is one of four winners of mathematics’ prestigious Fields medal, known as the Nobel prize for math. New Delhi-born Venkatesh, 36, who is currently teaching at Stanford University, has won the Fields Medal for his profound contributions to an exceptionally broad range of subjects in mathematics.
